Work Program for Regulating Matriculation of MPA Candidates in 2021

In accordance with the “Work Program for Postgraduates Second-round Examination and Admission of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2021” and combined with the actual admission situation of MPA candidates in this School, the regulating work method for MPA is hereby formulated.

I. Application requirements for regulating

1. Professional master candidates qualified for the part-time Master of Public Administration (MPA) of CUG and taking part in the national postgraduate entrance examination (management joint examination) in 2021 (the first examination subject should be the same as the first examination subject of the part-time MPA professional degree);

2. Candidates applying for the master degree in management (public administration, business administration, tourism management, engineering management, accounting, library and information) in their first choice;

3. The result of preliminary examination should meet the national basic requirements of the first-choice major for Class A candidates, and meet the basic requirements for Class A candidates applying for “public administration” professional degree, that is, the total score is 174, including 43 in English and 86 in management.

II. Regulating types to be received: part-time and targeted on-job candidates

III. Regulating quota: 71 persons

(Remarks: If there is incremental quota, they will be supplemented in sequence after 71 candidates are admitted; when there are still some places left, another examination for regulating will be organized.)

IV. Regulating procedures

1. Our School will release the regulating information for MPA on Mar. 24, lasting for 18 hours (0:00 on March 24 to 18:00 on March 24). Please log in to the regulating system of “China Graduate Admission Information Network” (https://yz.chsi.com.cn/yztj/) during this period to fill in personal regulating information, so that we can import the data of candidates into our admission system.

2. MPA Education Center will examine the candidates and send the second-round examination notice to those passing the examination. The candidates must reply within 24 hours and take part in the unified examination organized by MPA Education Center on time. Those failing to reply in time in the system will be regarded as giving up the qualification.

3. The qualified regulating candidates will take the second-round examination according to the “Announcement on Second-Round Examination for Master of Public Administration (MPA) in 2021” issued by CUG. For the time, place and requirements, please refer to the announcement.

4. Admission rules: The proposed admission list will be determined according to the total score (the sum of preliminary examination results and second-round examination result according to the corresponding weight; calculation formula: total score = total score of preliminary examination ÷ sum of full marks of all subjects of preliminary examination ×100×60%+ score of second-round examination × 40%; the second-round examination and total score are calculated in 100 points system, accurate to one decimal place.) from high to low. If the candidates to be admitted give up their qualification, they will be supplemented according to the comprehensive ranking list of the total scores.

4. Candidates who pass the second-round examination should receive the notice of admission through the regulating system of China Graduate Admission Information Network. Candidates must confirm the admission notice within 24 hours, otherwise they will be deemed to have given up the admission qualification automatically.

5. In case of one of the following circumstances, the candidate will not be admitted or disqualified: (1) unqualified in ideological and political quality and general quality examination (political examination); (2) failing to attend the second-round examination or unqualified in the second-round examination (the score of second-round examination is the sum of examinations; if the score is lower than 60, it is unqualified); (3) not publicized in the proposed admission list; (4) failing to submit the targeted employment agreement on time; (5)failing to submit graduation certificate and other required materials on time.

V. Points for attention

1. Candidates are required to pay the examination fee (RMB 100 Yuan / person / time) through the online payment platform of the Financial Section of the University (website: http://pay.cug.edu.cn/xysf/ ) before the second-round examination; they should sign the “Letter of Commitment for Integrity in Second-round Examination” before taking the examination

2. Candidates are required to arrive at the examination site 40 minutes before the examination, wear masks before entering the examination room, cooperate with the staff to detect body temperature, and pay attention to personal and environmental hygiene. When entering the examination room, they are required to bring their second generation ID card and admission card. When taking the written examination, they are required to place their ID card and admission card in the upper left corner of their seats;

3. The Master of Public Administration (MPA) of our University belongs to part-time targeted admission, and the candidates should go through the procedures of targeted admission. The candidates must sign targeted training contract with the admission unit and employing unit respectively before being admitted. The personnel files will not be transferred upon admission. Upon graduation, they will be employed according to the targeted contract.

4. After the candidates confirm that they are to be admitted, they should provide the MPA education center with the “Ideological and Political Performance Examination Form for Master Candidates to be Admitted” (filled in and sealed by the personnel or Political Work Department of the candidates’ unit) for political examination within the specified time. Those who fail to pass the political examination will not be admitted.

5. There is no physical examination during the second-round examination, and the candidates will take part in the entrance examination after admission. There are two ways of physical examination, and the candidates can choose either. First, candidates can go to our hospital for physical examination at the prescribed time; second, candidates can go to the local hospital of second grade or above for physical examination and mail the physical examination report to MPA Education Center at the specified time.
