Announcement on Regulating Matriculation for Full-time Master Degree Candidates of School of Public Administration, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2021 (Second Round)

In accordance with the Regulations on the Administration of National Master Degree Candidates Admission in 2021 (JXH[2020] No. 8) and the Notice on the Affairs of National Master Degree Candidates Admission in 2021 (JXS[2021] No. 2) as well as the spirit of relevant documents of CUG, the School, in combination with the requirements of epidemic prevention and control and the actual situation of admissions, hereby formulates the following announcement on the second-round examination for master degree candidates.

I. Basic Requirements for Regulating

(I) Basic conditions

1. Qualified for the application requirements of the major regulated to.

2. The result of preliminary examination should meet the national basic requirements of the first-choice major for Class A candidates, and the score requirements of the major regulated to.

3. The major regulated to should be the same as or close to the first-choice major, belong to the same discipline.

4. The subjects of preliminary examination are the same as or similar to those of the major regulated to, and the subjects of the national unified preliminary examination should be the same as those of the major regulated to.

5. Majors receiving regulated candidates: 035102 Jurisprudence (Science of Law), with the specific requirements as follows:

Regulated candidates majored in science of law, with outstanding academic research or practical innovation ability.

(II) The majors with insufficient applicants can accept the qualified candidates from the same or similar majors on campus or off campus.

(III) Both on-campus and off-campus applicants must apply, transfer data and go through procedures through the Regulating System of China Graduate Admission Information Network.

II. Regulating Procedures

1. Our School will release the regulating information on Apr. 9, lasting for 12 hours or more. Please log in to the regulating system of “China Graduate Admission Information Network” (https://yz.chsi.com.cn/yztj/) during this period to fill in personal regulating information, and the locking time of regulating choice is 36 hours.

2. Our School will select the best applicants to take part in the second-round examination. The candidates receiving the notice for second-round examination must reply within 1 hour. Those failing to reply in time will be regarded as giving up the qualification.

3. The candidates take part in the second-round examination organized by our School.

4. Candidates who pass the second-round examination should receive the notice of admission through the regulating system of China Graduate Admission Information Network, and the final admission shall be subject to China Graduate Admission Information Network (http://yz.chsi.com.cn/). At the same time, please pay attention to the notice on our website.

III. Organization of Second-round Examination for Regulated Candidates

(I) Qualification examination

1. Qualification materials

(1) Second generation ID card;

(2) The original and copy of graduation certificate (the fresh undergraduate graduates must hold the student ID card or online student status verification report, and the admission qualification will be cancelled in case of failing to obtain the graduation certificate before entering the University. The candidate with questionable academic qualifications must provide the academic certification report or electronic registration form);

(3) Original transcripts or copies of transcripts in the archives (with the official seal of the Archives Unit); outline of graduation thesis or thesis proposal, proof of scientific research achievements or practical achievements, and relevant certificates of legal professional qualification examination (provided by those who pass the examination), etc;

(4) Admission ticket;

(5) The unqualified applicants could not pass the qualification examination. All qualification materials must be original and the copies should also be submitted. Those who fail to pass the qualification examination are not allowed to take the second-round examination.

2. Time and location of qualification examination

According to the price documents, RMB 100 Yuan/person shall be charged for second-round examination. Payment platform: http://pay.cug.edu.cn/xysf/ (account number is the ID card number, and the password is the last six numbers of the ID card)

(II) Content of second-round examination

The second-round examination mainly tests the candidates’ ideological and political quality, professional quality, innovation ability, foreign language level, cultivation potential, mental health and other aspects.

1. Written examination of professional courses: closed-book examination, totally 100 points, and lasting 120 minutes. The examination content is subject to the examination syllabus published on the website of the School. Candidates take part in the examination with their admission card and ID card.

2. Comprehensive interview

The full score of comprehensive interview is 200 points.

(III) Time and location of second-round examination

Offline on-site examination shall be adopted for the second-round examination.

(IV) Results of second-round examination

1. The second-round examination is scored in 100 points system, accurate to one decimal place. Score of second-round examination = (written examination scores + comprehensive interview score) ÷300×100

2. After the second-round examination, the results will be announced within 2 days, ranked according to the total score from high to low.

IV. Admission Rules

(I) Score calculation

Total score = total score of preliminary examination ÷ sum of full marks of preliminary examination subjects ×100×60% + score of second-round examination×40%. The total score is calculated in 100 points system, accurate to one decimal place.

(II) Admission rules

1. The proposed admission list will be determined according to the total score from high to low. If the total scores are the same, it will be ranked by the total scores of preliminary examination; if the total scores of preliminary examination are the same, it will be ranked by the score of single subject in the unified examination.

2. The candidates to be admitted must complete the admission procedures before May 30 (complete the political examination, transfer personnel files or submit the targeted training contract). If the candidate fails to go through the admission procedures within the time limit, he/she shall bear the consequence of not being admitted. All the proposed admission lists must be submitted to the Ministry of Education for approval before they are officially accepted.

3. In case of one of the following circumstances, the candidate will not be admitted or disqualified:

Unqualified in ideological and political quality and moral quality examination.

Failing to attend the second-round examination or unqualified in the second-round examination (the score of second-round examination is the sum of examinations; if the score is lower than 60, it is unqualified).

Unqualified in the additional examination for the candidates at equal education level.

Not publicized in the proposed admission list.

Failing to submit the targeted employment agreement on time as a targeted employment candidate.

Failing to submit graduation certificate and other required materials on time.

Providing false information.

(III) Admission category

Non-targeted: The personnel files of non-targeted postgraduates must be transferred to the University within the specified time. Upon graduation, they will be employed by two-way choice between themselves and employers.

Targeted: The targeted postgraduates (including full-time and part-time) must sign targeted training contract with the admission unit and employing unit before being admitted. Upon graduation, they will be employed according to the targeted contract. In principle, in-service targeted employees can be admitted as part-time postgraduates. Candidates for individual examinations can only be admitted as the postgraduates who will return to their original units for targeted employment. For the targeted candidates without targeted employing units (targeted to the region) in the minority backbone program, the personnel files can be transferred.

(IV) Training mode

Full-time: Within the basic length of schooling or the length of schooling stipulated by the University, they must study full-time in school.


(V) Tuition and grants

For tuition, please refer to relevant standards of the Regulations of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) for Admissions of Master Degree Candidates in 2021. The academic scholarship assessment for new students shall be carried out in the second-round examination. The scholarships and grants for full-time postgraduates shall be implemented in accordance with relevant regulations of the University.

V. Miscellaneous

1. The candidates are required to take adequate measures for epidemic prevention and control according to the requirements of their origin and the University, to ensure personal hygiene and health.
