Introduction to the Key Laboratory of Legal Evaluation Engineering of the Ministry of Land and Resources

Construction history: according to the spirit of the Agreement on Co-construction of China University of Geosciences by the Ministry of Land and Resources and the Ministry of Education in 2016, the Real Estate Registration Center of the Ministry of Land and Resources and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) have jointly established the Key Laboratory of Legal Evaluation Engineering of the Ministry of Land and Resources (hereinafter referred to as the Laboratory) by giving full play to their respective advantages and integrating high-quality resources, which was opened up and operated in Beijing and Wuhan since August 1, 2009. 

General idea: the Laboratory aims to establish and improve the development, utilization, management and protection system of land and resources, integrate modern scientific and technological methods such as system engineering, computer science and decision science with law and public management, strive to build a theoretical system and technical support platform for legal evaluation of land and resources, scientifically evaluate the land, geological and mineral systems, and improve the legal system of land and resources, put forward policy suggestions on land and resources, so as to promote the continuous improvement of China’s land and resources laws and policies and improve the legal management level of land and resources in China.

 Research fields: during the construction period, combined with the previous research foundation, characteristics and advantages of related disciplines, the Laboratory has focused on three research fields themed on “theory, standard and technology for legal evaluation of land and resources”, “land legal system evaluation” and “geological and mineral legal system evaluation”, formed the characteristic scientific field of “Research on the legal policy of land and resources based on interdisciplinary collaborative innovation”, initially straightened out the scientific research focus of the laboratory, and condensed three research fields which are not only in line with the contemporary scientific development goals, but also reflect the discipline advantages and characteristics of the Laboratory.

Talent team: the Laboratory has made a major breakthrough in talent training and team building. During the construction period, one leading talent of the national “Ten Thousand Talents Program”, two new century outstanding talents of the Ministry of Education, one youth top talent of the national “Ten Thousand Talents Program”, and two winners of the National Outstanding Youth Fund have joined the Laboratory. Since its establishment, the Laboratory has trained 168 masters, 37 doctors and hundreds of bachelors.
