My Profile 

Hu Shougeng, native of Qingyuan Zhejiang Province, CPC member, born in 1978, Director of Publicity Department of the Party committee of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), professor (T2) of the Department of Land Resources of School of Public Administration, doctoral supervisor, CUG scholar, discipline leading talent, Outstanding Young Talents of the Ministry of Natural Resources, chief expert of major projects of NSFC, mainly engaged in the research on land use and urban and rural development. Director of the Key Laboratory of Legal Studies of Ministry of natural resources; member of Wuhan Municipal Government Advisory Committee; deputy director of the Youth Working Committee of China Land Science Society; member of the Professional Committee on Land Economy; Deputy Secretary General of China Urban-rural Development Strategic Think Tank Alliance; member of the Land Resources Research Committee of China Society of Natural Resources; member of Education Committee; director and deputy secretary general of Hubei Land Institute; member of Hubei Social Science Joint Committee. Postdoctoral/visiting research in the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS, Wuhan University, University at Buffalo, the State University of New York, and University of Connecticut, etc. In recent years, I have presided over more than 30 projects at provincial or ministerial level or above, including the Major Program of National Social Science Fund of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Major Special Project for Public Welfare Industry of Ministry of Land and Resources, planning project of the Humanities and Social Science Fund of Ministry of Education, and science and technology pilot project of the Ministry of Natural Resources, participated in more than 10 projects, including the subject of National Science and Technology Support Program, and the key program and general program supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, published more than 70 papers in professional fields at home and abroad, and successively won the Second Prize of Outstanding Social Science Achievements Award of Hubei Province (Ranking 1), the First Prize of Teaching Achievement Award for Colleges and Universities in Hubei Province (Ranking 2), and the Third-class Award for Progress in Science and Technology of Hubei Province (Ranking 2).

The main research fields are land use and urban-rural development. Main research interests: 1) urban-rural development and land use transformation; 2) regional cultivated land protection and land space optimization; 3) natural resources utilization policies; 4) Spatial and temporal information analysis and simulation of land use

Natural resources management: research on the supervision and assessment system of state-owned natural resources assets, pilot study on dynamic accounting of land resources assets, space big data comprehensive supervision and analysis of natural resources based on deep learning.

Land survey and evaluation: study on the integrated monitoring system of land resources in the farming-pastoral area in North China, productivity accounting of agricultural land in Hubei Province, investigation on the cultivated land quality in Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, 1: 2000 land remote sensing interpretation in Three Gorges Reservoir Area, automatic fine classification of urban land use based on primitive, evaluation of land intensive use in Economic Development Zone (2008, 2010, 2012, 2014), urban land grading and benchmark land price updating, land revaluation after consolidation.

Land reclamation and consolidation: Fine assessment of land ecological status, Code for Compilation of Land Reclamation Scheme in Hubei Province, technical method for evaluating the potential of sustainable farmland consolidation, land consolidation planning at county level, land consolidation planning database, basic farmland delimitation after land consolidation project, land reclamation project and planning and design budget preparation, land reclamation of resources development and utilization project in pyrite mining area, planning and design for land consolidation of high standard basic farmland.
