Liao Jianqiu

Liao Jianqiu, male, native of Anhua, Hunan Province, PhD in Law and Economics of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, associate professor of the Department of Law of School of Public Administration of China University of Geosciences, is mainly engaged in the teaching and research of resource economic law and law and economics. In 2001, he received a bachelor’s degree in law from Northwestern University; in 2004, he received a master’ degree in law from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law; in 2009, he received a doctorate in law and economics from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law.

He has published more than 30 papers in China Legal Science, Modern Law Science, Legal Forum, Research on Institutional Economics, Journal of Northwestern University, Economic Law Forum and other core journals. Many of these papers have been reprinted in full text by Replicated Journals of Renmin University of China in “Economic Law and Labor Law”, “Law Science Digest”, “China University Academic Abstracts”, “Economic Jurist” and “Essence of Economic Law of China”.

Co-author of New Rural Environmental Law of China; associate editor of Economic Law (New Series of 21st Century Textbooks for Law Major in Colleges and Universities), General Theory of Economic Law (New Series of 21st Century Applied Textbooks for Economics and Management) and Economic Law (Series of Excellent Planned Textbooks for Economics in Colleges and Universities); co-editor of Law Against Unfair Competition (Series of Textbooks for National Higher Legal Vocational Education, edited by the Editorial Department of Law Textbooks, Ministry of Justice), Economics of Law (Series of 21st Century Textbooks for Economics).

He has presided over the “Research on the legal countermeasures of rare earth resources protection” supported by the Provincial Social Science Fund, the “Law and economics analysis of the principle of liability fixation of environmental tort” supported by the Humanities and Social Science Fund of Department of Education, and “Hidden danger of land resources security and its legal solution” supported by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities, and participated in some research projects, including the “Economic analysis of China’s economic law” supported by the Ministry of Justice, the “Legal regulation and control of water rights in trans-basin water transfer in China” supported by the Humanities and Social Science Fund of Ministry of Education, the key project of the Tenth Five Year Plan of the Ministry of Education: “Research on the relationship between public and private rights in the field of education”, and the project of China Law Society: “Research on the State-owned Property Management Law”.

He has successively won the Second Prize of “Excellent Papers of Young and Middle-Aged People in Economic Law” of China Law Society, the First Prize in the Call for Papers Themed “Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Implementation of the Law on Protection of the Rights and Interests of Consumers” held by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the Excellent Master’s Thesis Award of Hubei Provincial People’s Government, the Third Prize of the 10th Excellent Social Science Achievement Award of Wuhan City, and has won the honorary title of Excellent Bachelor’s Thesis Supervisor of Hubei Province for many times .
