An Academic Exchange by Professor Zhang Jianjun from China University of Geosciences in Beijing
On the afternoon of Mar. 6, 2021, invited by the dean of SPA, namely Professor Wang Zhanqi and Associate Professor Xu Feng from Department of Land Resources Management, Professor Zhang Jianjun from School of Land Science and Technology of China University of Geosciences in Beijing made an academic exchange in SPA. Professor Zhang made an academic report entitled Comprehensive Land Consolidation and Ecological Restoration to all teachers and students of the major of land resources management through Tencent Meeting platform. The seminar was presided by the deputy dean Professor Gong Jian. Professor Wang Zhanqi made the concluding remark and over 170 teachers and students of Department of Land Resources Management participated in this online seminar.
The report made by Professor Zhang Jianjun was structured in five parts, which mainly included macro-background and requirements, basic thoughts and concepts, development process of the basic theory and planning, planning process and key points and key concerns. The report systematically discussed the urgency, scientificalness, inevitability, systematicness and complexity of comprehensive land consolidation and ecological restoration. By means of PPT with full and accurate contents and colorful charts, Professor Zhang firstly sorted out the transition process of the national macro guidelines and policies in natural resources management, summarized the new characteristics of the people’s “demand for resources, ecologic environment and happiness and benefit” in the new era; subsequently, he illuminated the key points, that’s to say, the resources survey was the precondition of the natural resources utilization and management, breaking the resources imprecation was the guide, the spatial use control was the restriction and the effective implementation was the path, then he analyzed the important connotation of the theories such as “Life Community of Mountains, Rivers, Forests, Farmlands, Lakes and Grasslands” and “Two Mountains Theory”; next, Professor Zhang proposed to guide the preparation concepts with the oriented goal and idea and introduced the preparation process and details from the prospective of agriculture, town, ecological space and implementation of major projects; finally, Professor Zhang pointed out that it was necessary to pay attention to the unsettled important issues such as data integration, thought transformation, the relationship between consolidation and restoration, planning scale connection and so on in the coming future.
After the seminar, both teachers and students enthusiastically put questions to Professor Zhang. They closely interacted with each other with regard to the difficulties in the implementation of planning, conflict between planning units and geographical boundary, incentive mechanism of planning to the rural vitalization. Dean Wang Zhanqi made an important concluding remarks, demonstrated the historical inevitability of the comprehensive land consolidation in combination his own academic experience and encouraged both teachers and students to work hard for the frontier research in the related field. The whole seminar had dense academic atmosphere and both teachers and students benefited a lot from it!
