CUG Holds the Fifth National Undergraduate Contest on Real Estate Appraisal

CUG News (Correspondent: Tong Luyi, student reporter: Liu Songya) On July 17, the final of the Fifth National Undergraduate Contest on Real Estate Appraisal was held in China University of Geosciences. Themed on “Practice and innovation of real estate appraisal under the guidance of green development concept”, 16 works had been selected from 140 entries submitted by 74 universities and entered the finals after form examination, external expert examination and online finals. Experts, judges and students from 16 universities including Renmin University of China, Zhejiang University, Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology attended the opening ceremony. Professor Hu Shougeng, Dean of the School of Public Administration of CUG, presided over the opening ceremony of the finals.

After the opening ceremony, Professor Wu Qun, Director of the Real Estate Research Center of Nanjing Agricultural University, Qu Weidong, Professor of School of Public Administration and Policy, Renmin University of China, Wu Yuzhe, Professor of School of Public Affairs, Zhejiang University, Professor Lu Xinhai, Dean of School of Public Administration, Central China Normal University, Professor Hou Huping from the School of Environment and Spatial Informatics of China University of Mining and Technology, and Professor Hu Shougeng from CUG were invited to respectively gave lectures entitled “New Era: Prospect of Real Estate Appraisal”, “Discussion on the Teaching Reform of Undergraduate and Graduate Students Majored in Real Estate Valuation”,Impact of Property Right System on Real Estate Appraisal: Resources, Assets and Capital”, “Comparison of Real Estate Valuation Methods”, “Discussion on Online and Offline Mixed Teaching Reform of Real Estate Appraisal from the Perspective of Curriculum Ideology and Politics”, and “Research on the Formation Mechanism of Heterogeneous Distribution Of Urban And Rural Land Prices”.

On the afternoon of the 17th, 16 finalists competed fiercely. Finally, 3 grand prizes, 5 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 24 third prizes and 36 excellence prizes were decided; 10 excellent instructor award, 1 best organization award and 10 excellent organization unit awards were selected. CUG won 2 first prizes, 1 third prize and 1 best organization award.

It was reported that this contest was jointly sponsored by the Steering Committee on Public Administration Majors in High Education under the Ministry of Education and the National Joint Meeting of Deans (Heads of Departments) of Land Resources Management of Colleges and Universities, undertaken by the School of Public Administration of CUG and the Key Laboratory of Law Research under Ministry of Natural Resources, and co-sponsored by Hubei Realhom Appraisal Consulting Co., Ltd and Guangzhou South Surveying and Mapping Technology Co., Ltd. Wuhan Branch. The opening ceremony of the final was broadcast live, and tens of thousands of people listened to the invited reports online. In the same period, the School of Public Administration of CUG held a seminar on the construction of first-class land resource management major and the new major of land remediation engineering, as well as an experts forum.
