Prof. Xu Ming and Others Participated in the High-end Forum on Cultivating Composite Legal Talents in Science and Engineering Colleges and Universities of Law Education Research Association under China Law Society

[Xu Ming, Liao Jianqiu] On October 16th, the high-end forum of "Establishment of Law Education Professional Committee in Science and Engineering Colleges and Universities of Law Education Research Association under China Law Society and Cultivation of Compound Legal Talents ", co-sponsored by the Law Education Research Association under China Law Society and Beijing Institute of Technology School of Law, was successfully held in the International Exchange Center of Beijing Institute of Technology. Deans of law schools and heads of law departments from more than 60 universities nationwide, including Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, Tongji University, Southeast University, Beihang University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, South China University of Technology, Chongqing University, etc., came together, and Professor Xu Ming and Associate Professor Liao Jianqiu from our School were invited to participate and discuss the innovative initiatives for the cultivation of compound legal talents.

At the opening ceremony, Prof. Du Huanfang, Secretary General of the Law Education Research Association under China Law Society, introduced the preparation and establishment of the Law Education Professional Committee in Science and Engineering College and Universities. Prof. Zhang Wenxian, member of the party group, director of the Academic Committee and president of the Law Education Research Association of China Law Society, pointed out at the opening ceremony that the science and engineering colleges and universities had been exploring the characteristics and paths of law education in recent years, and the establishment of the professional committee would further promote the deepening, expansion and innovation of the cultivation of law talents in science and engineering colleges and universities. He also pointed out that to further promote Xi Jinping thought of the rule of law into the campus, into the classroom, and into the minds of students, we must further improve our political standings.

In the first part of "Xi Jinping Thought of Rule of Law and Ideological and Political Construction of Law Courses", in view of the keynote speeches by Professor Mao Junxiang, Party Secretary of Law School of Central South University, Professor Pan Weijiang, Deputy Dean of Law School of Beihang University, Professor Zhao Hongrui, School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law of Harbin Institute of Technology, Professor Dong Yue, Deputy Dean of Law School of Ocean University of China, Professor Li Weitao, Deputy Dean of Law School of Beijing Jiaotong University, Associate Professor Guo Dezhong, Deputy Dean of Law School of Beijing Institute of Technology, Professor Liu Jieming, Deputy Dean of School of Law, Humanities and Sociology of Wuhan University of Technology, Professor Wang Guohua, School of Law Shanghai Maritime University, Professor Zhang Youhao, Deputy Dean of Law School of South China University of Technology, and Associate Professor Lan Lan, Deputy Dean of Tianjin University Law School, and Professor Xu Ming expounded the logical way of integrating Xi Jinping thought of rule of law into ideological and political courses and values education in colleges and universities in the discussion section taking into account her experience in teaching ideological and political courses. Xi Jinping thought on the rule of law is connected with the profound value spirit of Marxist philosophy, which is a profound system of the fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue and an important starting point for promoting the development of students' thought of the rule of law. At the macro level, it is necessary to strengthen the integration of the values of the rule of law; at the intermediate level, it is the integration of the rule of law system; at the micro level, it is the integration of the rule of law norms. Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law is the latest achievement of the landmark sinicization of Marxism, and is the fundamental guide for why and how to implement the rule of law in the new era. Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law is a systematic system with rich connotations and is a major measure to comprehensively promote the integration of the rule of law and the rule of virtue.

In the second part of "Innovation of Training Mode of Compound Talents under the Background of New Law Construction", in view of the keynote speeches by Professor Wang Gan, Deputy Dean of Law School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Xue Changli, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of College of Humanities and Law of Beijing university of Chemical Technology, Professor Zhang Zetao, Dean of Law School of Guangzhou University, Associate Professor Hu Jianfa, Deputy Director of Clean Government Research Center of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Associate Professor Liu Yi of Beijing Institute of Technology School of Law, Associate Professor Zheng Xiang of Law School of Beijing Jiaotong University, Professor Sun Fabai, Dean of Institute of Humanity and Law of Shandong University of Science and Technology, and Professor Pei Zhaobin, Dean of School of Marine Law and Humanities of Dalian Ocean University, Professor Wang Shuhua, Dean of School of Law, Shandong Jianzhu University, and Associate Professor Li Zijin, Deputy Dean of School of Law and Politics, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, Associate Professor Liao Jianqiu pointed out that the construction of new law courses in science and engineering universities had been facing this problem from the establishment of methodology courses, but it was more epoch-making in the context of new liberal arts; the development space and momentum of some schools were worrying; the speeches discussed the experience of cultivating compound talents under the rule of law from the perspectives of vision, methods, paths, standards and certification; self-confidence in the cultivation of legal talents in universities of science and engineering came from interdisciplinary, so we should pay attention to the platform advantage in practice.

The scholars also discussed and exchanged views on the theme of the third part, "Curriculum Construction and Practice System Construction for Cultivating Compound Legal Talents in the Era of Intelligent Technology".

The establishment of the Law Education Professional Committee in Science and Engineering Colleges and Universities of Law Education Research Association under China Law Society provides a platform for the cooperation and exchange of future legal education in science and engineering universities. At this forum, legal educators gathered together to offer suggestions for the cultivation of compound talents under the rule of law, and achieved satisfactory results.
