The Major of Administration Awarded National First-class Undergraduate Major 

Recently, according to the Notice on Releasing the List of National and Provincial First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Bases in 2020 issued by the General Office of the Ministry of Education, the specialty of administration in SPA was selected as the national first-class undergraduate major. Up to now, two undergraduate majors including administration and land resources management, have been selected as national first-class undergraduate majors.

The major of administration has a long history. it began to recruit the students in 1992, and was authorized to offer the master's degree for administration (the secondary discipline) in 2004 and the master's degree for public administration (the first-level discipline) and MPA professional degree in 2006. In 2013, it was approved as a key discipline in Hubei Province, and was ranked as B+ in the fourth round of discipline evaluation in 2017, which was the best humanity and social discipline in CUG. It was authorized to offer the doctor’s degree for public administration in 2018 and approved as a center for post-doctoral studies in 2019. In 2021, it was approved as a national first-class undergraduate major. (Reported by Qian Wen Qiang)
