Class Advisor Training & Exchange Meeting in Spring, 2021  

(Reported by Wang Qingtao) In order to strengthen the building of the class advisor team and improve the management level of the class advisors, a class advisor training and exchange meeting in spring, 2021 was held in Meeting Room B209 on Apr. 15. The meeting was presided by the Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Liu Guohua. The undergraduate class advisors and all counselors attended the meeting.   

Firstly, Professor Guo Lan from Center for Psychological Health Education of College Students carried out the training. Professor Guo Lan taught them how to work well in psychological health education, told the importance of the psychological health education in combination with the students’ psychological consultation in Center for Psychological Health Education and made a contrast analysis of psychological normality and psychological abnormity. She also explained the judgment standard of psychological disturbance, psychological block and psychological crisis with the actual cases and pointed out that having self-knowledge, having principal work, having friends, having value, having efficiency and have sense of responsibility were the common signs of psychological health. Next, Professor Guo gave the instruction of working method of psychological health and pointed out that the class teacher should strengthen the basic knowledge acquisition, understand the characteristics of the students through class meeting, conservation and interview, establish good mutual-trust relationship with the students, make use of the student cadremans, pinpoint the objects concerned and form the resultant force for psychological health together with the counselors. Finally, Professor Guo gave a specific direction in heart-to-heart talk and conversation method, identification of the psychological problem and the intervention method. The class teacher had an exchange of views with Professor Guo on the difficulties in the routine work.  

 Secondly, they discussed three documents to be released. The Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Liu Guohua introduced Working Regulations of Class Teachers, Detailed Rules on Implementation of Psychological Crisis Intervention (Trial) and Implementation Plan for Accelerating Employment and all attendants had an exchange of views on the above-mentioned documents. The counselors of the graduation grade Wu Bo and Wang Qingtao introduced the current employment of the undergraduates and the postgraduates respectively.   

Thirdly, all attendants exchanged the experience with each other. The representatives of the class teachers Zhou Xuewu and Yang Shengfu exchanged their experience in work and shared their experience in class management. The Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Liu Guohua and the Secretary of Party Branch of Department of Land Resources Management Zhou Xuewu issued the certificated to Liu Zhonglan and Yang Shengfu who were granted the award of excellent class teachers by CUG in 2020.   

Finally, The Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Liu Guohua made a concluding remark. He was grateful to the class teachers for their hard working for the learning and development of the students. He believed the development of SPA could not be separated from the concerted effort of the teachers, the growth of the students could not be separated from the correct education and direction of the class teachers. It was necessary for all teachers to implement the fundamental tasks of fostering virtue through education in the whole course and in an all-round way. He hoped all of the attendants could find out the work improvement direction through today’s training and exchange to offer better guidance and service to the students in SPA in the future and make more contributions to the construction of three-all-round education.
