Department of Public Administration Holds the Graduation Internship and Thesis Writing Arrangement Meeting for Students of Grade 2018

(Correspondent: Wang Xinrao) On the afternoon of June 24, 2021, the graduation internship and thesis writing arrangement meeting for undergraduates of Grade 2018 of the Department of Public Administration was held in Room 305 of Multi-functional Building in North Campus. All teachers of the Department of Public Administration and all students of Grade 2018 in administrative management and public service management attended the meeting which was presided over by Associate Professor Zhang Shiju, deputy director of the Department in charge of undergraduate teaching.

First, Zhang Shiju introduced the arrangement and requirements of graduation internship and thesis writing. Graduation internship will take 10 weeks, mainly independent internship. In principle, the content of internship should be closely related to the topic selection of graduation thesis. Students can freely choose internship during summer vacation and winter vacation and should complete the internship appraisal form and internship report. In order to ensure the safety during the internship, each student must complete two injections of vaccine and purchase personal accident insurance before the internship according to the requirements of the University and the academic affairs office. Thesis writing is the test and application of the theoretical study in the past three years, and the Department of Public Administration has always attached great importance to the guidance and process management of the thesis. The topic selection of graduation thesis must be discussed with the advisor, and the topic can be determined and the proposal can be written only after the approval of the advisor. The proposal should be submitted in the late December of 2021, and a translation of foreign literature and a 10000 word literature review directly related to the topic selection of the thesis should also be submitted at that time. The deadline for the first draft is the Friday of the first week in May 2022, the deadline for the final draft of is the Friday of the last week in May 2022, and the graduation thesis defense is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of the first week in June 2022, or held in advance as required. In the process of graduation internship and thesis writing, students should actively contact their advisors and keep close contact with the teacher to ensure the completion of graduation internship and thesis as scheduled.

Professor Huang Delin has put forward specific requirements on how to write graduation thesis. All students should pay attention to the writing of graduation thesis ideologically, make preparations as soon as possible, collect data, and complete various tasks for graduation with a positive and serious attitude, so as to lay a solid foundation for their future development.
