Department of Public Administration Holds the 2021 Teaching Practice Mobilization Meeting

(Correspondent: Hu Dongzhe, Hu Xuetian) At 16:30pm on June 24, the Department of Public Administration held the 2021 teaching practice mobilization meeting in Room 205 of Multi-functional Building in North Campus. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Shiju, an associate professor of the Department of Public Administration. Professor Zhuo Chenggang, Associate Professor Xie Xin, Associate Professor Li Xiaoyu, Dr Li Bingqing, Dr Qian Wenqiang and all students of Grade 2019 of the Department of Public Administration attended the meeting.

Zhang Shiju stated the general requirements of this teaching practice from three aspects, i.e. safety requirements, process management and results. For safety, students are required to do a good job in the safety of practice on the premise of complying with the requirements of epidemic prevention and control; both teachers and students must complete two injections of vaccine before practice.; all students for practice must purchase accident insurance, must sign the Safety Commitment for Students’ Off-Campus Practice (Annex 1) and observe the safety operation rules and regulations of practice base (unit). In the practice, students are required to take the initiative to use professional knowledge, carry out research practice, take self-discovery, problem-raising and problem-solving as the learning path, strengthen the connection and application of knowledge, so as to achieve the unity of knowledge research, ability improvement and value building, and the combination of theory and practice. When working in the internship unit, students are required to show the quality as double first-class university students, actively communicate, and be good at raising problems, finding problems and solving problems. After the completion of the practice, students should make records and summary, and submit the practice diary and report in time.

Professor Zhuo Chenggang set forth the requirements of teaching practice with the theme of “safety, discipline and harvest”. In safety, the students are required to ensure personal safety and property safety, and pay attention to the safety of commuting and activities during the; in discipline, the students are required to abide by the specific operation process requirements of the internship unit and follow the arrangement of the leading teachers. In practice, we should also pay attention to whether we have gained, whether the knowledge learned in daily teaching and professional books is useful and valuable, and how to use it in practice. With the practice of Chairman Mao Zedong’s “Investigation Report on Hunan Peasant Movement”, he encouraged everyone to know the society and the grass-roots level in the teaching practice. At the same time, he asked students to actively train communication and expression ability in this teaching practice, and encouraged them to communicate with the leaders of their units and dare to express themselves in front of the leaders.

This mobilization meeting explained the purpose, significance and requirements of summer teaching practice, answered students’ doubts, and set the main tone for summer teaching practice. Finally, the meeting ended with the applause of the students.
