2021 “Social Investigation” Practice Teaching Arrangement Meeting

On the afternoon of June 24, the School held the 2021 “Social Investigation” practice teaching arrangement meeting in classroom 109, No. 3 Teaching Building. Liu Guohua, deputy secretary of the Party committee of the School, Yang Qin from the School of Marxism, Li Wenwei, part-time counselor for undergraduates of Grade 2019, Zhao Miaofeng, representative of university-level outstanding graduates, and all undergraduates of Grade 2018 and 2019 attended the meeting. Before the formal opening of the meeting, Liu Guohua stressed the matters concerning summer vacation safety, the leave from Wuhan and leave cancellation, the vaccination of COVID-19 vaccine, the fraud prevention, and the discipline of final examination.

Then, Yang Qin from the School of Marxism made a guidance report on “How to do a good social investigation”. Around the three main points of “what is it”, “why to do” and “how to do”, she analyzed the contents of social investigation in detail. In the section of "what is social investigation", she defined the basic definition of social investigation; in the section of “why to carry out social investigation”, with the recent examples of strict governance of after-school tutoring for primary and secondary school students, she made a thorough analysis of the importance of social investigation to social governance, which made students understand that the significance of social investigation was not only to describe the social status quo, but also to explain the reasons and analyze the development trend of social phenomena; in the section o “How to carry out social investigation”, she divided social investigation into five implementation steps, and each implementation step was explained and further divided into more detailed operation means. For Yang Qin's meticulous and eloquent guidance, students have benefited a lot.

Zhao Miaofeng, an university-level outstanding graduate student, shared the future development after graduation, employment and other issues. Based on his learning and growth experience, he first briefly analyzed the employment pressure of college graduates, and then pointed out the importance of advance preparation for job hunting. “Don't embarrass yourself every time, always thinking of cutting off all means of retreat," he reminded us with humorous language, "what should we do if the postgraduate entrance examination fails? At that time, if you want to get a job, you will be two years behind others.” Finally, he said that we should pay special attention to the employment information conference organized in the University, and make full use of the resources to find a suitable position.

Finally, deputy secretary Liu Guohua made an in-depth exchange on the topic of “Making a good choice for “life””. He explained in detail the school’s practice teaching program of “social investigation” in 2021, stressed that the survey should adhere to the problem orientation for investigation and research, and called on everyone to s learn “on practice” and “On Contradiction”. He hoped that in the future, no matter continuing their studies or employment, the students could get what they really want. “The postgraduate entrance examination is an information war, a psychological war and a protracted war. The meeting not only introduced the specific arrangements of summer social investigation for students in relevant grades of the School, but also was a briefing and hammer meeting, which pointed out the way forward.
