At the beginning of the meeting, Hu Shougeng, Dean of the School, briefly introduced the foundation and situation of the School, the development objectives, key reform and development tasks, and how to implement them scientifically. He said that we sincerely expected the participating members to put forward more valuable opinions and suggestions on how to further identify the position in the overall development situation of the University, how to better promote the implementation of the plan, and how to contribute more to the development of the University.

In the first part of the consultation meeting, the heads of the Department of Land Resources Management, the Department of Public Administration and the Department of Law reported the development, and existing advantages and shortcomings of each discipline respectively. Hu Shougeng, Dean of the School said that at present, the development momentum of the School was generally good, but during the 14th Five-Year Plan, the bottlenecks restricting the development of the school should be discussed in depth, such as how to build a research school and a new liberal arts demonstration school with distinctive characteristics, how to solve the contradiction between major national needs and insufficient service capacity, and how to make changes in the school under the overall framework of university reform.

In the second part of the meeting, the participating experts and alumni highly affirmed the achievements of the School during the 13th Five-Year Plan period and the scientificity and integrity of the first draft of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and also put forward a series of highly targeted suggestions on Party construction, discipline structure, talent training, scientific research, serving major national strategies, international exchange and cooperation, characteristic school, teaching staff and teams, alumni exchange and cooperation, high-end think tank platform, quantitative indicators, system and resource guarantee, planning relationship between school and university, etc.

Zhang Kuanyu, Secretary of the Party committee of the School, made a concluding speech. He thanked the participating experts and alumni for their wisdom in helping the School achieve higher-quality development in the 14th Five-Year Plan, and said that the School would seriously absorb and think to integrate the insights into the subsequent revision of the plan, and would find the specific ways to find out the problems. He stressed that the whole School must ascertain the original advantages and the current weaknesses of the School, and must know how to make it bigger and stronger. The School must unify the thinking to form a joint force, and finally issue an instructive, feasible, annually decomposable and supervision-available plan, pursue excellence with continuous struggle, strive for strength with quality, and realize high-quality sustainable development through hard work, so as to build a high-level research school with distinctive characteristics and first-class disciplines!
