Our School Held a Special Lecture on Safety Education for College Students

On the afternoon of October 14, a lecture on safety education for college students of the School of Public Administration was successfully held at Room 206 of North Comprehensive Building. Mr. Liu Guohua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the school, Wang Qingtao and Wang Xinyu, counselors of the School, all monitors and League secretaries of undergraduate and graduate students and members of the right service attended the meeting. This lecture was presided over by Liu Guohua, Deputy Secretary of the School, and delivered by Peng Guanjun, Deputy Director of the Safety and Security Department of our university.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Peng pointed out that various activities in human life were closely related to safety. Only when safety was guaranteed could people have a more colorful future. Therefore, as contemporary college students, it was very important to form a sense of safety.

This lecture covered nine parts, such as anti-theft and anti-fraud. First of all, Mr. Peng used campus surveillance videos and animated shorts to show students various theft and fraud cases in life, and listed the places most prone to theft in the student area. He emphasized the importance of preventing such incidents in a witty and humorous way

With regard to telecommunications fraud, Mr. Peng specifically mentioned the important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang on combating telecommunication network fraud crimes, which sounded the alarm for the students. In the fire prevention section, Mr. Peng listed the miniature fire cases that occurred on campus in recent years for the students, re-emphasized the school rules and regulations that strictly prohibit the carrying of high-powered electrical appliances, urged students to carry out inspection work, and required students to master the use of fire extinguishers. In view of the endless cases of college students being endangered by bad campus loans in recent years, Mr. Peng took specific cases as the starting point to remind students to stay away from bad campus loans and avoid tragic consequences. After that, Mr. Peng explained to the students one by one on campus traffic safety, network safety, etc., and helped all the students to tighten their precautions in their thinking.

Towards the end, Mr. Peng emphasized that the epidemic prevention and control work on campus was still an important task at the moment, and hoped that the students would take it seriously. At the same time, he also sent his heartfelt wishes to all the students present at the meeting- wishing them all success in their studies at university!

At the end of the event, Deputy Secretary Liu Guohua expressed his gratitude to Mr. Peng for his well-prepared lecture with a combination of pictures, words, videos, data and cases around him. Secretary Liu led the participants to learn the part in "Student Handbook" on the disciplinary measures for students and emphasized again: “Safety is not a trivial matter, as members of the backbone of the class, students must know the responsibility in the heart, lead the class to control the total switch of all kinds of security ideas, and further enhance the awareness of law and discipline and fraud prevention awareness of all students. Build the bottom line of security protection, do not fall into any interest trap, resolutely put an end to naked chatting, swiping, selling bank cards and other illegal and undisciplined behavior, and work together to maintain good campus harmony and stability; strengthen publicity and education, through class meetings, regular meetings of class league, presidium regular meetings, regular director meetings and other forms to make security education more into the class, into the brain, into the heart, into the dormitory; any time you encounter an emergency that requires help, be the first to call the 24-hour duty phone number of the security office or your counselor or 110 for assistance.

This safety education lecture ended successfully with the warm applause of the students. We believe that after this lecture, all students will have a higher level of security awareness and will be able to better protect their personal property during their four years at the University!
