Leaders of Jingmen Federation of Social Sciences were Invited to Our School for a Symposium on Point System Management

On the afternoon of December 1, 2021, at the invitation of Professor Hu Shougeng, Dean of the School of Public Administration, Li Baiwu, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of Jingmen Federation of Social Sciences, as well as Director Zou Xuelai and Director Xu Guoyan, who are in charge of the Federation, came to our school for a symposium on the management of the innovative points system for municipal social governance. Mr. Zhang Kuanyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Public Administration, Prof. Hu Shougeng, Dean of the School, Liu Zhonglan, Li Xiaoyu, Zhao Pin, Associate Professors of the School, and some graduate students attended the symposium.

At the symposium, Professor Hu Shougeng, Dean of the School, delivered a welcome speech, and then the two sides had a lively exchange on the important status and role of grassroots social governance in the modernization of national governance, and the remarkable effectiveness and characteristic experience of implementing the points system management innovation in grassroots social governance in Jingmen City. Associate Professor Liu Zhonglan, on behalf of the research team, made a comprehensive report on the research experience in preliminary visit to Jingmen City and the research report written by the research team at the later stage, from theory to practice to case studies. Li Baiwu, Chairman of Jingmen Federation of Social Sciences, introduced in detail the implementation of point system management in each community (village) of Jingmen, the remarkable results, regional characteristics and future promotion ideas. He pointed out that as the starting point of grassroots governance in Jingmen, the points management played a huge role in stimulating the participation of the public, mobilizing everyone's enthusiasm and improving the work efficiency, and the problems in practice also should be discussed and improved. The two sides discussed and exchanged the main contents of the research report, fully affirming the quality of the research report, but also put forward suggestions for improvement from the title refinement, experience refinement and highlighting the characteristics of Jingmen. Zhang Kuanyu, secretary of the party committee of the school, talked about the important role of the management innovation of points system in grassroots governance, and put forward creative ideas on how to implement the point system management in colleges and universities to improve the effectiveness of our work.

Finally, the two sides exchanged views on the long-term cooperation between the School of Public Administration, Jingmen Federation of Social Sciences and Jingmen Academy of Social Sciences. They believed that the "Jingmen Mode of City Governance Innovation" could be used as a breakthrough point to carry out long-term academic exchanges, and also reached preliminary cooperation intentions in the areas of talent training and construction of internship practice bases to further implement the strategic cooperation agreement between the Jingmen Municipal Government and the university.
