The establishment of Academician Innovation Center aims to enhance deeper technical cooperation in the fields of ecological protection and environmental restoration, effectively promote and enhance the technology R&D and application level of geological exploration units in ecological environmental protection and restoration construction, and provide strong intellectual support and technical guarantee for the sustainable high-quality development of green exploration. Academician Zhao Pengda is a professor and doctoral supervisor of China University of Geosciences, former President of China University of Geosciences, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, an academician of the International Higher Education Academy of Sciences, a famous mathematical geologist, a mineral exploration scientist and geological educator.
The research and development team of Academician Innovation Center is composed of young and middle-aged technical backbone and experts and scholars from Qinghai Nuclear Geology and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), integrating the advantages of ecological protection and restoration and ecological product value realization and other related fields, which is a multifunctional innovation platform integrating ecological and environmental restoration, environmental governance, talent exchange and training, transformation of scientific and technological achievements and technological transformation, etc. It can play the leading role of famous experts and scholars, meet the demand of resource and environment related industries for technological innovation, and is of great significance to Qinghai Province in cultivating local resource and environment innovation teams and excellent scientific and technological talents, gathering innovative resources, breaking through key resource and environment technology constraints, improving independent innovation capability and enhancing the level of ecological civilization construction.
At present, the academician innovation center has formed a 10-member expert team and 15-member R&D team. The research topic is "Pre-R&D and application of key technologies for water pollution control in Huangshui River Basin of Xining City". It is expected that the key technologies and long-term values developed by the project will not only provide strong support for Xining City in carrying out watershed ecological protection and restoration to drive the development of natural resources along the route and the transformation and upgrading of heavy chemical enterprises, but also provide important support for the improvement of the quality and image of the city.
