The Awarding Ceremony of the Legal Talent Training Base of Hubei Chushang Law Firm and the Seminar on Joint Training Mechanism for Practice-oriented High-level Legal Talents was Held in the School of Public Administration

(Reported by Li Jijie) On December 15, the awarding ceremony of the legal talent training base of Hubei Chushang Law Firm and the seminar on joint training mechanism for practice-oriented high-level legal talents was held in the School of Public Administration. Zhang Kuanyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of this School, Cai Huilian, Deputy Dean of this School, Wang Zhong, Deputy Dean of this School, team members of the Department of Law, some teachers of the Department of Law, Fu Fengming, Secretary of the Party Branch of Hubei Chushang Law Firm, Zhang Liang, Director of the Law Firm and Peng Hong, partner of the Law Firm attended the ceremony. The meeting was chaired by Wang Zhong, Deputy Dean of this School.

At the beginning of the meeting, Zhang Kuanyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of this School, expressed a warm welcome to Hubei Chushang Law Firm (hereinafter referred to as "Chushang Law Firm") on behalf of the School. He said that the cooperation between the two sides can innovate the new path of legal talents training in the School and effectively promote the teaching and social services work of the School, especially the special seminar on the training mechanism of practice-oriented high-level legal talents is very meaningful. The appointment of three lawyers from Chushang Law Firm as "part-time instructors of LLM" today is a concrete measure to implement the concept of "open public administration" and a useful attempt to improve the legal practice skills of LLM. We hope to further study the specific mechanism of deepening cooperation with Chushang Law Firm.

Fu Fengming, secretary of the party branch of Chushang Law Firm, introduced the basic situation of Chushang Law Firm and expressed his pleasure to come to the School of Public Administration of China University of Geosciences, and thanked our School for sending such excellent talents as Peng Hong to Chushang Law Firm. He said that due to COVID-19 this year, the internship time of the three interns was relatively short, but they fully demonstrated the excellent quality of law students in the School of Public Administration, and this period of time would be a very beautiful experience in their lives. With the ambition to build a learning, research or even academic law firm, Chushang Law Firm has opened Chushang Forum and Chushang Lecture Hall, and expects Chushang Forum and Chushang Lecture Hall to be an important platform for both sides to deepen cooperation. At the same time, he hoped to continue the cooperation between the two sides in the future. Chushang Law Firm welcomes students from the School of Public Administration with the utmost enthusiasm to carry out practical teaching in the law firm and is willing to contribute to the cultivation of outstanding talents for the School of Public Administration.

Subsequently, the awarding ceremony of "talent training base" and the appointment ceremony of "part-time LLM supervisor" were held.

Liu Qi, deputy director of the Department of Law, reported on the teaching practice in 2021 from the overview, process and results of the internship. He expressed his great appreciation to Chushang Law Firm for its strong support to the internship work of law students, providing a good practice platform for students' internship and did a lot of useful work. After the internship, the students strengthened their understanding of what they had learned and all said they had benefited from the internship activities.

Wu Chanyu, an intern representative, said that the internship was already more than four months ago, but she was still impressed, especially the eight-word motto of Chushan Law Firm. During the internship, she worked and studied with Ms. Yue Zheng and Mr. Hong Peng and acquired some basic practical skills, such as organizing documents, categorizing and binding, and writing basic legal documents. She wished Chushang Law Firm better and better.

Finally, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on the joint training mechanism for practice-oriented legal talents.

This exchange between the two sides is an important measure to deepen the cooperation between the School of Public Administration and Chushang Law Firm, which is believed to help improve the level of cooperation between the two sides and achieve complementary advantages and common development.
